Upcoming: BlogCatalog Mobile
We have a lot of projects in the works at BlogCatalog, but one of the things i am most excited about, and engulfed in, is porting BlogCatalog to a mobile platform. While most smartphones these days have great browsers built in, having access to a mobile optimized version of a site makes things much easier. While the mobile version of BlogCatalog is primarily designed for the iphone, it should also work well on most smartphones with modern browsers installed which i am seeing more and more of every passing day. A mobile version allows smartphone users to browse the site without having to constantly scroll and zoom.
BlogCatalog Mobile won’t have BC’s full feature set, but it will have quite a bit of functionality including: your dashboard news feed, profiles, blog listings, searches, discussions, and best of all shoutboxes. If you have any specific features you’d like to see in the mobile version, just let me know. You can look forward to seeing a beta launch in about a week or two.
